Milestones of Achievements

Glory to the Nation

  • Selected to represent India at the London 2012 Olympics in the doubles event partnering Leander Paes. And being the third Indian to play in the Singles event. The youngest player in tennis team and creating history by being the first tennis player from the city to represent India in the prestigious Olympics event.
  • Selected to be the part of Indian Davis Cup team and played a live rubber on the third day against Japan in Sep 2011.
  • Represented India in the 16th Asian Games held at Guangzhou, China from 12 Nov 2010 to 23 Nov 2010. He finished with a Bronze Medal in the Men's team event and a Silver Medal in the Mixed doubles partnering Sania Mirza.
  • Selected to be in the reserve of the Common Wealth Games held in New Delhi, India.
  • Selected to be in the reserve of the victorious Davis Cup team against Brazil in Sep 2010, Japan in Sep 2008 and Uzbekistan in Feb 2008.
  • Represented India in the Indo-Philippines Test tie held at New-Delhi in March 2008 and helped India win the tie 3-0.
  • Represented India for two consecutive years in the prestigious Asian Hopman Cup held in Astana, Kazakhstan in Nov 2008 and Nov 2009.
  • Represented India in the Junior Davis Cup held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the age of 15 and finished 6th in Asia Oceana in May 2002.
ATP Challenger Events

  • Vishnu has played the main draw in the singles event of the ATP Chennai Open in Jan 2008 and 2012 and played the doubles main draw in Jan 2011 - the biggest tennis event in India.
  • Semi-finalist in the singles and the finalist in the doubles of the $50,000 ATP Challenger series held at Karshi, Uzbekistan from 16th - 21st Aug 2010.
  • Finalist in the doubles of the $50,000 ATP Challenger series held at Kyoto, Japan from 08th - 14th Mar 2010.
ITF Futures Events

  • The First Indian to be featured by the International Tennis Federation as the "Player of the Month - April 2011".
  • In the ITF Futures, Vishnu participated and has been the Finalist in Nine and Winner of Seven in the Singles event. In the Doubles event, Vishnu was the Winner in Fifteen and Finalist in Ten.
National Events

  • Winner in the Singles and the Doubles events of the prestigious South Club Men's IOCL Open Grass Court Nationals held at Kolkata from 17th - 22nd Dec 2007.
  • Winner in the Doubles event of the Men's DSCL Open Hard Court Nationals held at New Delhi from 09th - 16th Oct 2007.
  • Finalist in the Singles event of the Men's DSCL Open Hard Court Nationals held at New Delhi from 09th - 16th Oct 2006.
  • Won the Gold Medal for two consecutive years as the team captain for his University in the All India Inter - University Tennis Tournament in the year 2006 and 2007.
  • Selected to represent the State in the Men's Inter - State Nationalsas the Team Captain and won the Gold Medal for his State in May 2005.
  • Winner of the Hard Court Open Junior Nationals held at Secunderabad in May 2003.
  • Selected to represent the State in the Junior Inter - State Nationals as the Team Captain and won the Gold Medal for his State in Nov 2003.
  • Winner of the Hard Court Open Sub - Junior Nationals held at New Delhi in Dec 2001.
